Black love can be an everlasting love if doused with the right ingredients.
Many celebrity couples are making it a trend to stay married: Actress Viola Davis and actor husband Julius Tennon, Angela Bassett & Courtney B. Vance, gospel singer Erica Campbell & music producer Warryn Campbel, and Hollywood duo Jada Pinkett-Smith and Will Smith.
Marriage isn’t easy by far, but with a seasoned pro like Will Smith giving marriage advice, there may hope of preserving committed unions.
Will and Jada just celebrated their 20-year anniversary and Will took to Instagram to offer tips on how to maintain a strong marriage.
- Love is Like a Garden: “I have learned to focus on HELPING you to BLOSSOM into what YOU want to be (into what you were born to be)”
- Love is Nourishing: “Rather than Demanding that you become what my Fragile Ego needs you to be. I’ve learned to take pleasure in Nourishing YOUR dreams…”
- Love is Listening: “Rather than wrestling with you to Fulfill my Selfish Needs & Satiate My Insecurities. I have learned that Love is Listening.”
- “Love is Giving.”
- “Love is Freedom”
Smith concludes his advice by saying, “Happy Anniversary, My Queen! I am forever Devoted to Nurturing your Deepest Truth.”
Will also added that because of Jada, he is ultimately a better person.
