Camila Cabella’s GRAMMY speech was cute, her calling everyone (including Obama) the nword ISN’T

Sunday, singer Camila Cabella introduced U2 at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards by making a heartfelt speech supporting Dreamers and all those who share the immigrant experience.

“Tonight, in this room full of music’s dreamers, we remember that this country was made by dreamers, for dreamers, chasing the American dream,” the former Fifth Harmony member said.

“I’m here on this stage tonight because just like the Dreamers, my parents brought me to this country with nothing in their pockets but hope. They showed me what it means to work twice as hard and never give up. And honestly no part of my journey is any different from theirs. I’m a proud, Cuban-Mexican immigrant, born in eastern Havana, standing in front of you on the Grammy stage in New York City. And all I know is that just like dreams, these kids can’t be forgotten and are worth fighting for.”

While the moment may have been moving to those in attendance, on social media many who have followed the “Havana” singer’s career couldn’t help pointing out she hasn’t always been so compassionate towards people of color.

Last year several screenshots emerged showing how she called her bandmates “the four n****rs” – finding it particularly funny that one of the girls in her group is black and therefore, “Actually a n****r”

When she was called out for constantly using racial slurs in public, many of her fans showed their support by calling her black bandmate Normonkey, a spin on her real name Normani.

The usually vocal singer was uncharacteristically quiet during this episode and did nothing to dissuade them at the time.

Even former President Barack Obama wasn’t exempt, when she used a Twitter fan account she ran as a space to endorse the then president as, “Man***a”

The page was allegedly deleted due to complaints about her racist and homophobic language.

Given the long list of receipts that have been collected about this young lady over the years, suddenly her words at last night’s ceremony ring hollow. You can’t champion groups of people under attack by Trump on stage – while talking just like his base of supporters behind closed doors.

Do better Camilla.
