ORANGE COUNTY, FL – Commissioner Victoria P. Siplin and the Citizens’ Commission for
Children hosted Earn, Keep & Grow for 501c3 Non-profits Workshop, at the Holden Heights
Community Center. “I want to ensure our local non-profits, in the health & human services
sector, have the necessary information to timely apply for the 20-million-dollars Children’s
Services Funding,” said Commissioner Siplin.
The workshop was presented by senior staff in the Orange County Citizens’ Commission for
Children Division, who educated potential service providers on the Children’s Services Program
data, its targeted, nine zip codes and categories of funding for:
- Juvenile Justice/Prevention/Foster Care
- Early Childhood Education/Care
- Mental & Physical Health
- Child/Student Homelessness
Seven of the nine targeted zip codes are located in Commissioner Siplin’s District, and she was
pleased to see over one-hundred representatives from local non-profits attended the workshop.
“We all know that Progress Requires Collective Commitment; it was encouraging to see
everyday citizens taking active steps towards helping solve the ills in their communities.”
It is important to note that the deadline to submit a Notice of Intent to Apply is Wednesday,
March 20, 2019.
