Irv Gotti has mad love for Drake.
The Murder Inc. co-founder suggested that Drake would have even more success if he had been working in the 90’s or the early 2000’s, when Murder Inc. was also riding high, during the Drink Champs podcast with N.O.R.E.
“If Drake was in my era, Drake would be selling 15 million, 20 million a clip,” Gotti said. “Do you realize this? So right now, he sells three, four. If he was in my era, he’d be selling 15, 20. I know this, so I’m like, once he does something outside the music genre, he’s gonna see how colossal he is. That ni**a’s colossal. He’s a genius. That motherf***er’s a genius, okay? Drizzy for sure is a genius, yo. He’s, dare I say, our Eminem of today… he’s f***ing Eminem.”

During that same podcast, Gotti spoke about Eminem’s verse on “Renegade” and claimed that Eminem “bodied” JAY-Z back then.
However, he’s since walked back those comments, claiming that he was high when he made them and that, obviously, he still thinks Hov is the best.
“I was drunk and high,” he wrote on Instagram after the podcast. “And I am in no way saying that I didn’t say that. I did. In my opinion. Again. In my opinion. Eminem was iller on RENEGADE. Now. In no way shape or form does that mean I do not LOVE my brother Jay Z. OR. That I don’t feel Jay Z is by far the Best Rapper Alive.”
