Kodak Black has always represented his home country of Haiti proudly, and now he’s putting some dollars behind his words.
The Florida raised-rapper just announced that he’s building a school in Haiti, which he revealed after letting fans know that he purchased a house for his grandmother.
“I got my Grandma a mansion in Haiti,” he wrote. “I feel like we still be going through slavery. Out of all the times I donate or give back in anyway I never upload or broadcast it. But I’m happy to say I’m building a school in Haiti as well. #Pray4Haiti, #TheLandofHell, #WeChosen, #Levite.”
The new school isn’t the first time Kodak’s generosity made headlines.
Last month he donated $10,000 to Jack & Jill Children’s Center in Broward County, Fla., a non-profit that focuses on childhood education. And last year he and Master P announced they were organizing a back to school fundraiser. That was until they had a falling out and Kodak accused Master P of trying to charge him for mentorship.
In regards to the school, there’s no word on when it will arrive but the rapper’s lawyer Bradford Cohen said it’s part of Kodak’s plan to make some positive moves after being released from prison in August.
Since that time, the 21-year-old has stayed out of legal trouble, but he did get into it with New York rappers A Boogie wit da Hoodie and Don Q after he threatened to beat them up.
But Cohen said Kodak is serious about giving back and plans to involve himself with charitable causes throughout the United States.
