Nearly 20 years after she debuted The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, the singer is starring in her first-ever fashion campaign. Lauryn Hill has signed on to be the new face of Woolrich for their recently rebranded series, American Soul Since 1830 and she struck several stunning poses for their 2018 Fall/Winter collection.
She also pitched in on the creative process for the longstanding, Pennsylvania-based brand.
“Lauryn Hill does what Lauryn Hill wants to do,” Mel Ottenberg, a stylist who worked on the shoot, told Vogue. “She marches to her own beat, and with this project, she got to completely show her instincts as a creator. So much of her vibe is in the pictures, it’s so cool.”

The collection features jackets that feature collages of photos from her Grammy-winning debut album as well as images shot at the Harlem Theater, which is where she shot her music video for “Doo Wop (That Thing).”
“I rarely get starstruck, but she was a force to be reckoned with. She’s a tough cookie, but so beautiful… A mega star, with such modern style,” added Ottenberg, who revealed Lauryn Hill treated onlookers to an impromptu practice session for her Miseducation tour..
“It killed everybody, it was the most exciting ever,” he said. “I have a history of working with strong women, because they inspire and challenge me, but this was really special.”

According to reports, the singer is suing her cousin, Gerald Hill, over an unpaid load. Bossip is reporting that she agreed to loan her cousin $65,000 last year under the condition that he would repay her within three months or incur 10 percent interest on the cash. He reportedly failed to pay her back and now she’s taking him to court to collect her coins. She reportedly filed the lawsuit in New Jersey last month and is seeking $85,000 along with legal fees.
