On Monday, LeBron James and the Cavs rode the subway in New York City ahead of a game with the Knicks, and LeBron caught the whole thing on camera.
LeBron filmed himself and his team as they all squished into the train at the 34th Street-Penn Station stop. According to LeBron, the team had decided to take the subway when their options came down to a 45-minute bus ride or a train ride.
LeBron was seated beside Kyle Korver and a random passenger, though the man clearly didn’t want to be part of LeBron’s documentation.
“Can you not,” the passenger said and then moved seats.

However, other passengers were much happier to see the team and waved to them as they continued their commute, especially fans of former Knick J.R. Smith.
According to James, the video marked the first time he had ever ridden the subway.
“As long as I’m getting on the right [damn] train that’s all I care about,” James said.
“Trying to be like real citizens, man,” Smith added.
The MTA has since taken to Twitter in response to the video to say that they’re glad the team took the subway, but the MTA is Knicks territory: “Thanks so much for taking the subway Lebron, but the King of this town is @kporzee and we’re riding with the Knicks tonight. #KnicksTape.”
