Leslie Jones, of Saturday Night Live fame, will be hosting this year’s BET Awards.
“I am so excited to be hosting The BET Awards this year,” Jones said of the opportunity. “BET was the first network and place where I was on TV — I am looking to turn this whole experience into a joyful homecoming.”
This is the first major award show gig for Jones, who will join the likes of Chris Rock, Mo’Nique and others who have hosted the BET Awards in its 17-year history. This year, the awards are dominated by Beyoncé, who is up for seven total, though Bruno Mars with five is making a respectable dent and Solange, Chance the Rapper, and Migos have four nominations apiece.
You can catch the awards show itself live on Sunday, June 25, at 8 pm ET on BET. The awards will be taking place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, CA.
