Reality star Masika Kalysha will not return for the next season of “Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood,” instead she will join the cast of “Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta.”
The budding musician told The Shade Room in a video interview published Monday, July 23, “I didn’t like the way I was being portrayed. I didn’t like the situations I was being put in. It ended up being a lot of situations that in my real life would never occur.”
Kalysha said the “final straw” came when producers cut out her scene with friend Moniece Slaughter where she opened up about a miscarriage. “They edited it out and my PR person asked them why and they said legal purposes… Anything that was positive or family oriented was taken away and replaced with things that weren’t going on in my everyday life so that was my final straw,” Kalysha said.
Last month “Growing Up Hip-Hop” executive producer and cast member Bow Wow tried to warn fans that VH1 talent was strolling over to their set. The Atlanta based rapper said he was “done handing out checks.” In a caption to the same post on Instagram, Bow Wow added, “Its no secret that all the VH1 Talent is reaching out to come over to #Guhhatl. Everyone wants NEW. This type of shit as a business man costs us money. They fucked ms Deb whole function up yesterday fighting. As the producer if you are NOT GUHHATL talent please stay off our sets.”
