Mother allegedly got hair done as baby died in hot car
A 25-year-old Georgia mother was arrested after she left her baby in a hot car while she spent six hours getting her hair done.
Police said that the mother, DiJanelle Etta Fowler, likely did not intend to kill the child. She had left the air conditioning running, but when she came back outside, the car had turned off, and the baby had slowly died in the heat.
When she returned to the car, however, she did not show any signs of distress and asked a man to help her start her car. The man reportedly did not notice the baby because she had been concealed from view.

The little girl, Skylar Fowler, died on June 15 and was found dead in an Emory University Hospital parking deck after Fowler called 911 to report that she herself was having seizures, though she made no mention of the child.
Initially, police believed that the child had died during the hospital visit, but her story didn’t add up, and an autopsy result showed that the girl had been dead longer than that.
Fowler was arrested on Monday after her visit to the hospital and has since been charged with felony murder, cruelty to children and concealing a death.
