A mother in Pennsylvania has been sentenced to prison for allegedly slamming her daughters head into the wall and strangling her when she incorrectly recited bible verses.
Rhonda Shoffner, 41, was sentenced on Wednesday to 2 ½ to 5 years in prison. She pleaded guilty to the aggravated assault of her daughter who was under the age of 13.
The girl was reportedly forced to kneel on the bathroom floor and recite the bible verses. Each time the little girl made a mistake her head was slammed into the wall before Schoffner began strangling her and threatening to kill her.
The girl was able to fight off her mother before being told to leave and never come home. The girl reported the incident to her father who took her to police.
