Ne-Yo’s better half Crystal Smith wanted help finding moisturizing products for her son’s hair but got dragged instead when she said the youngster wasn’t “blessed” with hair like her own.
“So my son wasn’t blessed with mommy’s ‘Hawaiin silky’ as my sister @nikki_loraine likes to say,” Smith posted on Instagram Tuesday, Feb. 20. “Can anyone suggest some good products or moisturizers? Nothing I’ve tried will help the dryness. His hair seems to just soak up everything instantly. Comment below if you’ve had this issue. Helllllllllllp.”
Some folks have suggested Smith apply Cantu moisturizing cream or Jamaican Black Castor oil to her boy’s hair. But most slammed her remarks.
Although the post has since been deleted, it continues to be met with comments against Smith.
“God didn’t bless you with Hawaiian Silky,” someone commented. “He gave you the mistress silky dipped in ignorant with a side of not good at anything except causing an uproar. God didn’t want to bless your children with that, so he just let you have it and that’s it.”
“Why have a son with a Black man just to hate your child’s hair?” another person wrote.
“I’m trying to see the Haiiawan Silky,” someone else said. “I could understand if Kim K were to say something like that in [terms] of hair…but this chick wasn’t ‘blessed’ with Haiiawan Silky hair. This is why he doesn’t have an ounce, both [parents] have the same texture hair. Ignorant at its best…just enjoy [Ne-Yo’s] few dollars and stay QUITE. Please!!!”
