‘Wet Dream Team’ Kicked Out Of Rec League For Racist ‘Coon’ and ‘Knee Grow’ Basketball Jerseys

A team of boys from Kings High in Ohio was exiled from their league for wearing racist and derogatory jerseys during a basketball game.

According to WCPO reports, the jerseys read on the back “Coon” and “Knee Grow” offending the family and friends who were in attendance. Tony Rue, a father of one of the boys playing on the opposing team took photos of the offensive jerseys and was in awe of disbelief. He also mentioned that his wife pointed out the team’s sexually suggested name “Wet Dream Team”.

“I couldn’t have made this up and had anyone believe me, I couldn’t have. You’re talking eight, nine layers of people and adults seeing these jerseys and thinking it’s just a joke”, he said.

The Cincinnati Premier Youth Basketball League called quits on the game before it ended because of the boy’s jerseys. The team has also been kicked out of the recreational league for the remaining of the season.

Rue along with many others are wondering how the jerseys got past school officials and parents without raising any red flags.

The King’s Division Coordinator Charrise Middleton released a statement, “Kings Rec Basketball for grades 7-12 does not in any way support or condone the uniform infractions that occurred. We fully support their (Cincinnati Premier Youth Basketball) decision to remove the team from play as well.”

The Cincinnati NAACP along with the organization’s vice president Joe Mallory, are requesting a sit down with the basketball league organization and are investigating the incident.
