Three men have been arrested in Florida. They allegedly threw off Hitler salutes and yelled Nazi chants before shooting at a group of protesters after white supremacist Richard Spencer gave a speech at the University of Florida Thursday evening.

The gunshots just missed the group of six to eight people, hitting the business they were standing in front of.

Tyler Tenbrink, 28, William Fears, 30, and Colt Fears, 28, drove from Texas to Gainesville, Florida, to hear Spencer’s speech at the Phillips Center.

Earlier in the day, before they began shooting at people, the Fears, who are brothers, spoke to the media. They claimed that protesters had nothing to fear from them.

“They don’t have to fear us. It’s always the left that brings the violence.”

According to Colt Fears, he is on board with approximately 75% of what Spencer espouses.

According to Gainesville police spokesperson Ben Tobias, it is “reasonable to believe they came here to bring some hatred.”

Spencer is well known for advocating for a white-ethno state. He was at the university to share his views but there were more people there to protest him than to actually hear him speak.

The three men who shot at protesters have been charged with attempted murder with Tenbrink also being charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
