Will Smith says he has Barack Obama’s blessing to play him in a movie
James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke” segment on The Late Late Show is so popular that it now has a stand-alone show on Apple Music.
The show had its first episode on August 8 with Will Smith, who sang “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It” and “Boom! Shake the Room.”
But along with the singing and dancing, Smith had something else to say: he had talked with former president Barack Obama about possibly playing him in a movie about his life. What’s more, Obama apparently gave him the okay to play him.
“I talked to Barack about it,” Smith said. “He told me that he felt confident that I had the ears for the role.”
